John and Kathie Vest are the new owners of Skeff’s Servicenter and Furniture Showcase previously owned by Ray and Colette Skeff. The business has been in operation since 1956. The Vests are planning for the continued success of the business. John and Kathie came to the Adams State BSC for guidance on how to get a loan to purchase the Servicenter. The first thing that they set out to do was get the business plan squared away. John, Kathie and Mary Hoffman [BSC Director], all worked diligently in order to get the plan done in time so the loan could be processed. The Vests scouted out places to acquire loans and submitted the plan. The Vests received the loan and purchased the store. John and Kathie are out to a great start. They plan to keep the Skeff’s name and tradition of service. John’s motto is: “Take care of the people and the business will take care of itself.” With a strong tradition of service and a solid business plan, the company is looking to be around for a very long time.
