Scams

1. Matthew Lesko:
  • He promises "billions of dollars in FREE MONEY!!!!" to practically anyone..including entrpreneurs. It sounds almost too good to be true, eh?
  • The information in Lesko's book cannot be called "false", but it is definitely misleading. Such monies may be available, but not necessarily for your profit-seeking business and not without considerable stipulations
  • Beware of such scams, especially where you are required to [as in the purchase of a book] to put up any money. If the programs are really that good, you will be able to find out about them by yourself for free.
  • The Better Business Bureau gives Matthew Lesko's book company an "unsatisfactory record."

2. American Grant & Loan Consultants, Inc.
  • This company has many aliases, including National Grant Finders and Foundation Grants Assistance
  • All companies affiliated with this organization require you to put money down in exchange for "guaranteed results" [or your money back!?]
  • According to Jane Nober of the Council on Foundations, these companies are "outright scams..the operators combine a little bit of truth with a lot of lies".
  • AGLC has a deplorable record with the Better Business Bureau, for such things as a "pattern of complaints", "non-delivery", "inability to obtain a refund", and "a pattern of no response".
  • The Michigan Attorney General's Office has filed suit against this organization, attempting to get its license revoked.
  • Avoid all such companies, those that purport to help you get grant money "to do absolutely anything".
