Non-Profit Lending Sources in the Valley

There are two major non-profit organization which grant business loans in the San Luis Valley. Christian Community Services operates the Entrepreneur Loan Center, which provides loans and loan guarantees to those who are denied at a commercial bank. ELC serves all six counties in the Valley. They provide guarantees for $1,000 to $19,500 and direct loans for $300 to $1000. Technical assistance is also offered to loan recipients in the form of 50/50 cost share for assistance, topic-specific workshops and one-on-one counselling. Development Resources Group provides loans to clients in similar situations [denied by a commercial bank]. DRG is located in Alamosa and services the same six-county region. DRG provides two major sources of funding for small business: the Revolving Loan Fund and the Micro Enterprise Loan. DRG specializes in gap financing. This means that they don't provide the main source of funding, but will fill in the gap between what you currently have and what you need.
