Mentors - Mary Hoffman
Background:
Mary is the Executive Director of Adams State College's Community Partnerships. She served as the San Luis Valley Small Business Development Center's Director for seven years. Mary owned and operated her own business for five years before getting her college degree.
Mary served as an Economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, US Department of Labor, in Los Angeles and in San Francisco from 1987 to 1993. As part of her responsibilities at BLS, she obtained and analyzed compensation and benefit data from a wide variety of companies ranging from sole proprietors to huge corporations.
Mary received the “State Star” award from the National Association of Small Business Development Centers. This award is given to individuals who make an extraordinary contribution to their State's business development system.
Business Experience:
Mary owned and operated her own successful retail jewelry business for five years before getting her college degree. She has also had great success developing social enterprises to support non-profit organizations.
